The Yale University Wellbeing Course, also known as the Science of Well-Being, is a free online course designed to help individuals increase their happiness and well-being. The course combines positive psychology research with practical advice to provide students with the tools necessary to lead a happier life. It covers topics such as misconceptions about happiness, strategies for increasing happiness, the importance of social connections, and the science of habit formation.


Students engage in weekly readings, quizzes, and assignments aimed at cultivating healthy habits and increasing positive emotions. The course is self-paced and can be completed in as little as 10 weeks. It is led by Professor Laurie Santos of the Yale Psychology Department, and has been taken by over 2 million students around the world.
